Dr. Sheila Scheffe joined Greeley County Health Services in October of 2008. She is board certified in Family Medicine.
As a Western Kansas native, Dr. Scheffe has rejoined the area and the team of physicians at Greeley County Health Services in caring for the residents of Greeley, Wallace, and Hamilton Counties and surrounding areas. Her knowledge of the rural lifestyle and outstanding medical skills have been a great addition to the staff.
Dr. Scheffe attended Fort Hays State University and graduated summa cum laude with a dual degree in Biology and Chemistry. She then traveled to the University of Kansas to obtain a doctorate of medicine. Dr. Scheffe completed a Family Medicine Residency with Via Christi Family Medicine in Wichita where she was selected as an OB supervisor. She was named as an Outstanding Resident Physician in both her first and second years of residency, a rare honor for residents. Dr. Scheffe also received the Glen E. Hastings award as an Outstanding Clinician.
Dr. Scheffe is a member of the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians, the Kansas Medical Society and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Scheffe provides the full spectrum of family medicine caring for patients of all ages, obstetrical patients and their children. She performs deliveries and c-sections. Hospital services include emergency, in-patient care, out-patient and skilled swing bed admissions. Dr. Scheffe and her fellow physicians also provide care to the residents of the long term care facilities in Tribune and Syracuse.
Reading, movies, music, travel and sports are a few of Dr. Scheffe’s personal interests. She enjoys the Western Kansas lifestyle and opportunities to be close to family and friends.
